When people talk about you, yes, word gets around.... but when you don't live in a way that reinforces that description... ie., 'who you are' doesn't fit the 'what I hear', then the negative infererences don't stick.

This is one reason that mitt hasn't been able to shake his 'I don't care about average Americans' persona -- because it is not only VERY true, but he continually reinforces it himself, in the media and his proposed policies.

When you live to prove people wrong, over time what they say does not matter....

Every day, by his actions, his policies and the things he continues to reinforce about Americans - he Obama lives to prove them wrong, and so in the end, he wins
