I get them from a local farm. Soak them overnight and simmer them the next day. Done in an hour or so. Other kinds of beans take way longer. Always cook them separately because anything acidic slows the cooking.

I love all the hard beans and even the multi bean soup mix. As a retired single guy, I have an amazing helper that makes life great. A crock pot. Put in beans, onions seasoning, go hiking all day and come home to a great meal of beans. For many days in a row. And more hiking each day. Ingles makes the sweet cornbread. Just a simple man and his beans. Very cost effective.

Dried takes longer. I mostly eat fresh green beans now. Brown cut up bacon, beans go in. Cook maybe 20 minutes.
