(1,575 posts)...Warren established her strategic platform - looking out and fighting for the working class.
In my opinion, Bum-berg is a lost cause - if nominated he will scuttle ALL democratic hopes for the next generation - he's just a slightly more middle-ish version of trump with less cognitive damage and likely a lot more assets. In actuality, he is probably even MORE dangerous if actually elected - I feel he will quietly allow the financial elite to continue to crush the working class and also turn a blind eye toward the ethnic bias of our justice system.
I believe that managing the "City of New York" is not managing the entire country. Sure, New Jack City is a melting pot, but that melting is encased by a pot that has been architected by global financial monoliths. New Yorkers (and the country) boil at the pleasure of Goldman Sachs et al. He will never address changes to the pot.
He is part of the pot.
And as president he would become the handle of the pot.
(Thanks for making it to the end of that long metaphor!)
I can help feeling that his run for president is nothing more than ego and money mixed together in his own little pot.
Oh and TL;DR - We need campaign finance reform - seriously!

(5,717 posts)Sanders will very likely be too old to run another campaign. He and Warren share a lot of views. Sanders/Warren puts him in the position of at least one term followed by her with two. This also overcomes the objections of 1) Bernie has a heart condition, 2) a woman "can't win," and a VP position greatly strengthens Warren's winning in the future. If people learn to like Sanders's policies, they will want to continue with Warren.
All that being said, Warren would make a terrific president, but not Sanders in the VP position.
