One of my favorite Bernie Sanders clips from the '80s has him discussing his recent fact-finding mission to Nicaragua, in '85 I believe.

At the time, you'll recall, Reagan was busy strangling their tiny economy with sanctions (plus using drug money to fund the Contra war) - and then caterwauling about how awful the Sandinistas were.

So Bernie asked the media in general to do real journalism down there, "instead of just saying: thank you, Mr. President; thank you for lying to us again."

Some things never change.
