Trump's Inner Circle Facing Intense Scrutiny In Ukraine Scandal

On tonight's episode of 'Don and the Giant Impeach,' Stephen Colbert updates us on the fast-moving Ukraine investigation and the actions of key players in President Trump's inner circle: Attorney General William Barr, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and attorney Rudy Giuliani.

Colbert Explains The Ukraine Scandal To Ainsley Earhardt Of Fox & Friends

Connecting the dots between the various abuses of power going on in the Trump administration can be challenging, so Stephen has come up with a simple explanation that should work for even the President's least-informed defenders.

1. Wowsa! Barr running trump 'errands' like his last 'personal attorney', Michael

[jailbait] Cohen.

Have to step back. Watergate looks like a church picnic crowd in comparison.

Who could imagine all this at this grimey, shitty level. trump is amazing.

2. That's my take on this, too!

I had dental surgery on election day 2016 and fell asleep on the couch watching the returns. I woke up at about 3am to see Trump standing there with his entire deplorable family! At first I thought it must be a nightmare and hoped I'd wake up - and I still am! It's gotten so bad so fast that it's tough to keep up!

3. It is so hard to keep up on the news floods. Just picked up my morning Wapo -

Wapo's front page has 4 trump stories, involving 7 reporter bylines.

In addition to 5 more trump related articles in the later pages of the front news section of the paper.
Additionally, today, a separate, special, 8 page supplement to the news section on Khashoggi [and Prince 'Sawbones' referred to as MSM] - with no ads in those 8 pages. So far, I haven't read it, I just . . . blinked.

Generally, it seems to me that Wapo has lagged the NYT in trump coverage over time. I did see the last $6 NYT Sunday edition - impressive.

[At the other end of the spectrum, talked to a trumper I've known for several years, last week. He is still all in for trump. I casually asked him, didn't some trump things like air and water pollution bother him. His answer was, 'I only drink bottled' water. [In fairness, he did realize what he said, after he said it - but suspect he still will vote trump to the end. He claims he likes trump on the abortion issue, I suspect its more likely the future dem brown nation issue].

' . . . and so it goes . . . '
