3. As a Rail Fan,

your statement is being born out in real time. UP and BNSF are in a leaner and meaner mode. Furloughs are happening in real time and Trains are now running twice or three times normal length of Train.

Example, yesterday PM a 3.2 mile long Inter-modal East Bound was recorded at the Belen New Mexico live Camera location. Two hours before,a East Bound 2.7+mile long Train was recorded.

And yes, total daily rail tonnage is in major decline.

4. Since you're a rail fan, then you know it will hit my small west central home town of

Galesburg, Iíll hard.

Any thoughts on how it might effect Amtrak?

6. If yesterday is any gauge

of possible hangups. These extra long Trains are causing some delays in traffic along the system. East Bound trains are the Gravy Runs and my guess is,Amtrak and anything local especially Merchandiser's are going to be pushed to the bottom of the order. The two mentioned trains yesterday were Chic-Town bound. From there,do not remember what the break out is.

Oh, it got a hell of alot better thanks to Obama but because of the Republican party things are about to get a lot uglier again.
