Saw the last episode of "The Loudest Voice" about Roger Ailes last night

At this point Rupert Murdoch is firing Ailes and Roger's empire is no longer his. He is wheezing and barely able to walk (and assisted by his loyal wife). She disbelieves all the women coming forward at long last saying they lied initially to save their jobs and what a monster he was -- woman after woman. Ailes wife sees and hears all this and (we are led to believe) finally knows the truth. The end title explains that Ailes died soon after and his wife moved to southern California.

Wow. what a series. Russell Crowe is perfect as the monster, Ailes. It is Gretchen Carlson who finally brings him down with her sexual harassment lawsuit against him.

Since Ailes was so essential to the rise not only of Fox News but the modern Republican party, this is a wonderful (if hard to take at times) show for us here at DU. The RW media are understandably unhappy and scornful of this show.

And the music over the credits is John Lennon's "Gimme the truth." It's a stunning production all the way...

completely believable as Ailes.

It was really interesting as to how Ailes shaped Trump. It's also amazing as to how manipulated we are by people like Ailes. Trump learned well from Ailes and has continued with the same tactics that Ailes taught him.

I sit back and wonder how many of the people portrayed in this series are still with Fox News and Murdoch.
