YES but could the average joe climb up a wall that way? I tend to doubt it. Someone young and nimble, most likely!

(10,778 posts)It's cool to watch, but it seems unnecessarily complicated and dangerous when you could just lean an extendible ladder against the wall.

(51 posts)A pole is faster, less complicated, more transportable and easier to improvise than a ladder. The pole those Vietnamese cops were using is probably a chunk of bamboo they can get just about anywhere. Bamboo is a grass and it grows rapidly and is rigid as heck.
