Can no one in this horrible, soulless Administration speak from the heart? (That question is rhetorical, of course.) Can't this well educated woman feel, really feel, anything about children separated from the parents and guardians, children who are sequestered in fenced-in-areas inside warehouses and forbidden to speak or hold one another? Can she not say that the situation for these children is unacceptable and heart breaking?
Of course she can't. In fact all of those questions are rhetorical.
Nielsen is just an awful, awful person. A cold, heartless human being in love only with her awful, awful career.
She can't provide a genuinely human response to questions about caged children anymore than a Nazi official could talk bad about the death camps, saying instead something like "I inspected the camps and saw that the detainees were being fed, clothed and housed -- for which they were asked to provide some labor which, after all, will make them free! These are not "concentration camps" at all, but, rather, "detainee facilities" where people stay until they find elsewhere to go -- that is why the population keeps changing. The guards are there for detainee protection, that is all, and please pay no attention to the smoke arising from those chimneys, and do not misinterpret the screams coming from the inmate shower-facilities. They are screams of delight because showers are so refreshing after a hard day of work."
To repeat: Nielsen is an awful, awful person.
