2. I don't know what happened last night - maybe someone was still on vacation?

But this is finally available, showed a pretty cool message he received back in the day from G.H.W. Bush...

4. Thanks! I don't know why this wasn't available last night - as usual - but it finally is now

And I agree that it was a good one, figures that he'd have a personal message from H.W. Bush to share...

5. It was a good one little vid.

I liked the rest too. I have been a fan for a while, since his CC days. He doesn't pull punches, we need that for our sanity and he seems to know that.

6. I agree, he seems to realize how we're feeling right now and plays to that

Even at the beginning of last week (Monday and Tuesday) while he was still on vacation, he went to the trouble of offering a couple of clever new shows rather than the usual repeats. And in his interview with Jon Stewart he talked about his transition from his "Colbert Report" character to the POV he expresses today. And he just keeps getting better...

15. I wouldn't be surprised if those we don't even know about are familiar with DU

If you remember, we have had some notable members - Alan Grayson, John Conyers and Elizabeth Edwards come to mind. Who knows? Maybe one of the Late Show writers - or Stephen himself - lurks here!

16. I do remember how they were members. Picturing Colbert lurking on DU is funny in itself.

17. Well, we do know that he is proactive - and does all kinds of "homework" to prepare

Though he might be a little taken aback to see his monologue posted - and the comments, LOL. Though he'd also probably be flattered!
