1. I think many real Democrats have the same feelings.

After the kick in the chops we suffered in 2016 it's difficult for some to allow themselves the luxury of hope again. No doom and gloom here though, because there's going to be a correction in Donald Trump's attitude come Wednesday morning!

2. After the shock of 2016, I sure feel anxious about this time around

My stomach wrenches when I imagine what losing could cost - and it's frightening to think of this going on much longer. But your little grinning face gives me hope - I sure hope to see a lot more of those here on Wednesday!

11. No kidding!

I was talking to my daughter about it this morning. She was crushed in 2016, her first time voting. We went to Susan B. Anthony's grave that morning after voting (had to wait in a half hour line to get near it!) and I took her picture putting her "I Voted" sticker on her headstone (they were allowing that because they come off easily) and we were both crestfallen the day after. What a letdown.
Neither of us dares get our hopes too high this year. I have a case of the nerves.

Best of luck to all of our Democratic candidates!

14. Oh, your poor daughter!

That must have been heartbreaking for her. Kudos to you for taking her disappointment seriously and supporting her.

I still remember voting with my Dad when I was a very little kid. I have no idea who I voted for, but he took into the booth with him and picked me up to push the levers! I sure wish I could talk with him about what's going on today, though I can picture him just shaking his head.

I sure hope that your daughter has a better experience this time around! Everything we're hearing points to it, but we can never take anything for granted - as we learned in 2016.

3. I'm confident that our voters will take it seriously this time

but not confident that we'll have fair elections or that eligible voters will be allowed to vote, especially in some GOP-controlled states.

Funny and not. I hope it helps inspire those who still need it.

7. I think we're "preaching to the choir" here

But I'm not at all sure how the general public who watched this last night will react.

5. That pretty-much crystalizes how I'm feeling...

...hopeful, but scared shitless!!!

Extra points to SNL for the eye-rolling cat!

6. I'm right on the edge of an anxiety attack myself

I know what makes sense - but then I am totally baffled how anyone could bring themselves to vote for Ted Cruz or support anyone or anything that's connected to the most offensive individual currently on the planet - or at least in this hemisphere.

10. Very serious matter, but that made me laugh out loud!

I think we are hopeful, but we all remember too well what happened back in Nov 2016 and do not underestimate the republican's ability to cheat and pull dirty tricks. If things were completely on the up and up, I really believe we would win, but I remain cautiously optimistic.

I am planning to take Wed off as a vacation day because either way, I am going to be too preoccupied to get much done at work.

Thanks for posting!

13. I sure remember, and it's still somewhat unbelievable to me

Who in their right mind would vote for such an offensive moran?? And that anyone can still support him after he's proven himself to be far worse than we even imagined just boggles the mind!

And I keep hearing that's it's extremely close in Texas between Beto O'Rourke and Ted Cruz! Really?? I remember what Al Franken said about Ted Cruz, but there are people who would choose him over the most inspiring candidate to come along in ages?! Those are the things that scare me!

I don't blame you for taking the day off, and I still believe that election day should be a national holiday (as Hillary Clinton advocated). I have a dentist appointment on Tuesday and I nearly changed it since I was coincidentally at the dentist on election day 2016 and I'm superstitious!
