5. K&R Thanks for Posting

A very good though brief, historical account of the right wing fascists takeover of all of Poland's democratic institutions. The situation there (and in Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and others) also places the Western Alliance, NATO, in a tough spot.

I believe Putin is behind this and has been assisted by western white supremacist groups and individuals. Remember, Putin has aligned Russian espionage with white supremacy. Don't believe me? The world is teetering at the edge of a very dangerous, steep cliff at this moment in time. Putin wants to subjugate and subordinate all the peoples of the former Soviet Union and satellite states, possibly even beyond. This is why getting our own politics back to some level of sanity is an extremely urgent task. I hope our intelligence community is working 24/7 to right the ship both here and abroad.

On Edit: The laughably proposed "Fort Trump" will be used as justification by Putin to cause even more chaos in the European theater. I don't believe Trump's or the Polish President's sincerity on this issue. Remember Helsinki. Poor Ukraine is squeezed in a vice. I'll be hoping and praying for peace.

6. It seems like the Poles have very short memories.

Why are they turning back toward authoritarianism after doing so well under the EU? I wonder if it's because so many of them who have embraced EU values have left Poland for other EU countries.
