(2,143 posts)I usually fall asleep before I can watch Colbert. And I always want to see/hear what he has to say. So thanks for posting Colbert all the time. I appreciate you very much.

(204,637 posts)And that's exactly why I started posting him. I know that a lot of people don't stay up as late as I do and not all DUers have access to TV. I find his humor reassuring with all the bad news we keep getting - and these days we need all the humor we can get!

i can't go on. This is all I can stomach today.
I'll watch the Kelly MaryAnne part later when I won't lose my breakfast.

(86,308 posts)I was able to get my head into another world over the past couple weeks, I really needed that. Up around here we have outdoor music events, a lot of them. Some are the concert type like Red Ants Pants and MT Folk Festival and some are just big jam sessions, mostly acoustic, the few that I attend any way. I went two weekend in a row, the first was great because the weather was cool, almost chilly. The second one was hot as hell - at 102F - both days that I was there, at least it was held along the river so we ended up going in and coming out to play only when the temps were a little cooler. It was so hot the cicadas stopped buzzing! But the music was great and we played into Sunday morning. I'm still recovering today!

(204,637 posts)So glad to hear that you're having fun! We have Saratoga Performing Arts Center in these parts - as well as musical performances just north in Lake George (if you can stand the crowds). The only thing is the weather. It seems like it's been raining almost every day - and not just a few drops. Last week I had a dentist appointment and the rain was so torrential that I had to wait before I dared venture outside. My dentist came in and said that the traffic lights were out!

(86,308 posts)we are burning both with actual wildfire and the heat. It's not supposed to be triple digits in Montana for heaven's sake. And then there's the smoke. I haven't seen a mountain range in over a week and I've been near several ranges the whole time. Haven't had an ashfall this year yet, keeping my fingers crossed.

(204,637 posts)The winter was brutal, we had nor'easters through the month of March. And now that the snow's finally melted, the rains are relentless, we've lost power twice in the past couple of weeks for the first time since Hurricane Irene in 2011. Sandy wasn't bad here, but Irene was devastating. What's been happening in the west is tragic - and if we could, we'd gladly send you any rain you could use.
