(18,837 posts)He's firmly ensconced at his "happy place" for the weekend, home of the most beautiful chocolate cake.
While I DO remember the shock and awe of Geraldo Rivera opening Al Capone's vault ( ), Daniels' lawyer seems to have his act together. I think he's well aware of what will happen if he promotes the 60 minutes segment and it turns out to be nothing.
I don't think it's going to be nothing.
I think there's going to be a distraction because, unchallenged, this will hit the news cycle and it will dominate.
I also don't think anyone cares about McDougal. From everything I've seen, this has fallen into the category of "expected behavior" for Trump.
The Daniels thing seems sleazier, meaner, and more of something for Trump to be extremely concerned about. It was also in place before the McDougal thing hit, so McDougal was largely viewed as "more of the same."
We'll all find out tomorrow.

You will see that I had the same idea on Thursday at 5:30 pm. I suggested in a post (which no one responded to, yes no one) that Trumps talk about "tariffs" were in reality a distraction from the "Stormy show"...and that is exactly what Rachel is saying. In fact the title of this thread says...

My first paragraph on the post (posted Thursday at 5:30pm)...says this:
Simple. It is an obvious distraction away from the Stormy matter, and the Muller investigation. The idiot doesn't have a clue as to what increased tariffs will do. He thinks it can save jobs. But if there is a world wide recession as a result of the idiot's decision, then the number of jobs lost will be enormous in comparison to what might be lost due to "competition that exists now." Further, if the stock market goes down 10 per cent..(no one knows) the result could also be a recession or worse.
