Trump Lacks A Moral Compass

Oct 18, 2017
Chris says we have a leader who appears to lack a moral compass. Trump speaks of destroying all of North Korea and he tries to undercut the nuclear weapons deal we have with Iran.

3. The more I see of Trump's behavior and words...

the more I think that if it weren't his rich daddy and the 200 million he inherited, Trump would be in prison now, after they found bodies buried in his back yard.

5. Mr. Matthews, just look carefully where the man came from.

tRump has never in his life existed outside a protective bubble of New York elites, where there's constant competition to see who can be the biggest and best liar, narcissist, skinflint, bigot and psychopath. Those are the qualifications for membership in that elitist world.

What we're seeing is the frantic response of someone totally lost outside his normal existence, like a fish out of water.

8. Not sure about what you are saying

Trump has never been welcome into the NY elite because the man has no class, they understand that you can dress a monkey in silk but it will still be a monkey, the fact he sits in a gold crapper doesn't give him class, on the contrary.

If you are trying to reference the NY mafia, that would be correct. In fact, that is one of Trump's frustrations that the NY High Class has never accepted him because they know who he is, and he is "person non grata" in those circles.

12. Perseus - I should have phrased that differently......

although he liked to show off in photographs with the elite through the years. We'll probably never know who his real friends and enablers are (or were). Despite his many claims of "friendship", he many not even understand what that word means.

What I was trying to say out of frustration is that aside from his serious mental issues, he has been isolated in his penthouse and other properties from everyday life with its norms and good manners, and seems to have little knowledge of those things. I suspect his questionable dealings with New York's government officials (and in other states) foreshadows his attitudes in office now.

His lack of knowledge of, and disrespect for governmental norms - both domestic and international - is equally baffling. Apparently when he's bothered to read daily newspapers, he's only read those things that affect his self-interests.

9. BS. That's a lot of generalities in very few words. And not true either.

You can't broadbrush everyone with wealth into a single personality mould.

Where Trump came from is a Nazi family. He was indoctrinated to think he is better than the vast majority of people, that he is one of the select, superior people entitled to his position above others. The Kennedy family is wealthy too, and they don't have those beliefs.

13. Coyote - you're right, I used poor phrasing.

I wasn't intending to include Trump in with the "good" elites, although we may have a different vision of those included in the world of elites. I apologize for my rushed statement. However, I do believe most people in that class isolate themselves from the everyday world of middle and lower classes, and therefore have limited knowledge of our lives.

The point I was attempting to make out of extreme frustration is that Trump, his family and many of his associates have lived most of their lives within an isolated group that cares little to learn about us, our struggles, or the norms of society and government. In my view, they should not be elected for public service.

10. Trump in terms of the "Godfather"

He WISHES he was Micheal Corelone.
He THINKS he is Barzini...
He IS Tallaglia...a pimp, nothing more, often considerably less.
