How Long Will Republicans Get Away With Lying To The American People?

Thom is concerned about how long the Republicans are going to keep getting away with lying to the American people, on healthcare, on war, on the Wall, on Trump's mental health, at every chance they get they lie and they keep getting away with it. But Republicans can't lie to the people forever... can they?

radio stations and organizing to dismantle the RW news, this is just going to get worse. The right figured out a long time ago, that the side that controls the airwaves, controls the message. We complain about his lies, but the T voters aren't hearing any of this. They live in a completely different world from us.

Liars always have the advantage when trying to persuade others.

If you're a liar and the first lie you tell doesn't convince anyone, you tell a different lie.

You can repeat this as many times as you like, tailoring the subsequent lies to better fit the audience.

When something works, you stick with that.

(And even if you get caught, so what? There's no penalty)

If you're an honest person, then on any given issue you've got only one story to tell.

If that doesn't go over, you're stuck.

Now, if we took liars to court, convicted them, and punished them it would hang a label around their neck as well as dissuading the next potential liar.

BUT...

We're so sold on the idea that lying is protected speech that we won't do anything about it.

We've thereby signed our own death warrant.

"So, if we lie to the government it's a felony. But if they lie to us it's politics."...
