BP's public relations problems continue into 2012, as one of its "Look guys, we're helping!" ads features an accidental cameo by a group of anti-BP protesters, who are reminding Gulf Coast residents why their water table got screwed up in the first place. It's not that big of a dealthe protesters are on screen for all of two seconds in a wide aerial shot where they look like antsbut it does draw attention to how desperately self-serving the ad's message is. Remember Chris Rock's bit about people who brag about doing things they should already be doing? Exhibit A, right here.
You can see the above tent @47Sec
I remember watching that at a Shrimp Festival or something back in the fall I can not find it now.
From the comments of the YT video
o LOOK BP, NUMBER ONE MOTHER NATURE MURDERER.

BP, the more you release these types of ads, the more active I become in boycotting you.

Rot in hell, BP. 10 years of taking samples won't fix the problems that you've created. There are some problems that you can throw money at. For everything else, there's fear uncertainty and doubt.

Let's put a bow tie and smile on the oil covered coast line. Oil and the toxic chemicals are still there.

Well done BP for doing what you said you would do...not like many other US companies. Good bless the 11 souls that never made it and go to hell all the scroungers that have made false claims!

I like how this commercial (because that's what it is) suggests that folks should be thankful BP is doing what they're SUPPOSED to be doing in cleaning up their own mess. That's like asking for a standing ovation for cleaning the pool after you just took a dump in the middle of it.
BTW was she even standing on the beach, because that looked like some bad green screen? LOL

Under the direction of the U.S. Coast Guard? The Coast Guard were the ones who authorized the use of COREXIT to hide the oil? Idiots!

This is possibly the biggest load of crap produced by BP's PR machine yet ! If you live in the Gulf region you know the truth. These clowns damaged the ecosystem to it's core. Dolphin deaths and the death toll of other marine life mounts DAILY. The citizens who work and live on the Gulf coast who are sick have been completely ignored and these idiots have the nerve to spend millions every day producing lies like this? Wake up people! These people need to be in jail!

And don't forget the shrimp have no eyes. Oyster season closed after 2 days in Mississippi because there wasn't any oysters to catch.

(321 posts)Whenever these BP ads (or any other fossil fuel ad for that matter) comes on, I quickly hit the mute button, or change the channel. Would be nice if TVs could be preprogrammed to mute automatically during ads air time.
