Election Hackers: Why Voting Technology Has to Stay Primitive

Since Russia (most likely) hacked our Presidential election in 2016, there's been talk of using cell phones for voting. Think again.

1. This is why the idea of voting online has been slapped down every time.

Bugs have already been planted, we aren't secure now and won't be as long as a republican run governments in office. We need to stop calling the elections with only 1% of the votes "counted."

2. Manually marked

paper ballots for EVERY voter. WITH absolutely NO resistance to recounts by the persons on the ballots and/or their administrative staff.

Edit to add: None of ANY tabulating machinery connected to anything but 110volt power provided by local utilities. That means NO cables other than the POWER cord and no way for ANY REASON that the machines have wireless contact of any sort. And ONE TYPE (Brand and model) of machine used in ANY state or territory where voting is performed. EVERYWHERE - the same machines using the same ballots! It's time we prove were a "union" by ditching the rag-tag voting systems we're now at the mercy of!

3. National vote by mail is the future.

4. HAND-COUNTED PAPER BALLOTS!!!!!!!!!!

1. It's cheaper in the long run.

2. It's already the gold standard for accuracy even before you have a recount.

3. It would show beyond doubt that the machines have been maliciously programmed for years and are still being maliciously programmed.

4. It would restore democracy or at least give democracy a fighting chance.

5. You wouldn't have crazy people elected to public office or you'd have fewer of them anyway.

6. It would increase local community pride and greater community involvement in the process of voting.

7. And there are many other positives associated with HAND-COUNTED PAPER BALLOTS.

5. Simple!!

Paper Ballots. 5 days in to vote and count the vote. If they can talk about, each national election for 4 yrs, then we should get at least a week, to make sure its right. Is it me, or does it always seem, whenever something is 'fishy' with an election, the republicans win?? I guess it's just me.
