the audience burst into hysterical laughter, and the host (I do believe it was phil donahue) stood there with his jaw on the floor for a couple of seconds. then he looked at her and said, "you can't possibly believe that"

(beverly is married to tim lehaye, co-author of the abysmal, apocolyptic "left behind" series. she is, ostensibly, the founder of "concerned women for america", which is mostly run by men)
