Thank you for all that you have done. There are miles to go before we sleep.

The business interests for this pipeline do not concern themselves with destruction of clean water sources. They are invested in profitable bottled water and dirty oil.

I will resist those who seek profit over protection of our lands. Some of my ancestors arrived here as indentured servants, a polite white term for slave. They took, by force, native americans as unwilling mothers of their children. We do not choose our families.

The tribe’s lawyer Jan Hasselman said in the statement that the Army Corps could not currently grant the easement “legally.” Even if the pipeline began to pump oil, the tribe would be pushing legal action to shut the operation down, said the statement.
