1. Because they are only slightly less beholden to corporate $ than the GOP

All DU Posts, including my own, are virtually moot until we get the outside money out of our elections. A grassroots movement to pass an amendment reversing Citizens United is the only real hope we have!

8. imo it's not the money

we have to get it out but trump beat the repub establishment and dems without it

here's the problem: at a cheap $1000/hr x 15hrs/day x 1200 stations, rw talk radio is worth 4.68 BIL$/ year or 390MIL$ /month FREE for coordinated global warming denial, pro republican wall st think tank propaganda, free market deregulation bullshit, swiftboating, and the hate and fear used to get people to vote republican.

we don't have much of a chance with any major reforms without recognizing talk radio is the reason people like bush palin and trump can even get close to the white house.

11. One drop!

How does that saying go…… “ A waterfall starts with one drop of water.” You will never know if you do not start.

12. +1!!!

They are all bought off to some degree or another. There is no such thing as spineless Democrats, they back down because their Donors tell them to. If we had a neutral FBI that wanted to do their job they could set up a sting and bust everyone of the politicians.

Washington is nothing but one big Quid Pro Quo.

When Trump and the Republicans start passing the heartless bills stripping the social safety net, killing public education, killing Obamacare, we need to be reminding the Trump supporters who is doing this to them! If we can start taking away the Republican base and motivating ours to stand up and fight we can accomplish our goals.

If we do this right we can take it all back, except this time we need to put in politicians prepared to eliminate campaign contributions, Super PACs, Dark Money, and the Revolving Door. We need Publicly Funded Elections!

They need to be prepared to bust up the banking and media oligarchies and require truth in news. Advertising at the networks must be kept separate from the news departments.

3. Discipline versus Serendipity

Democrats have brought diverse interests together and blended them,
and compromised, and traded off each other, and tried to rule from the
political middle in what is common sense to them.

Republicans have brought their core radical conservative ideas together
and put teeth in them, then hacked away at whatever wouldn't agree
with them.

Obama tried to define American values at his DNC speech in July 2016,
and I thought it a remarkable statement, unassailable. How do we make
our party troops ready to do battle and convince voters of the value of
our core beliefs? Voter apathy is as big a hurdle as any.

6. There is a faction here that wants to quash any and all criticism of Democrats in the name of unity

Some of these people even dare to call themselves progressive.

7. if he doesn't point to talk radio he's not helping

everyone's studying fish without the water, blaming symptoms, not the major cause.

it's pathetic.

13. Michael Moore needs to focus on films

and stop trashing the Dems. He has no credibility whatsoever after he lied about why the rust belt white dudes voted Trump.

I don't care if he never talks again. I am sick of him, just as I am sick of Sanders.

15. Democrats do this

We are a bunch of wimps. We refuse to fight for what we want. Our leadership are meek and absent of backbone. Will they stand up to Fuckump? I doubt it. Schumer is the Senate minority leader, will he be a leader or just another follower. I fear the later. Nancy Pelosy already stated there is noting wrong with our party...yeah nice statement, way to shaft us. WE NEED LEADERSHIP THAT IS WILLING TO FILIBUSTER, AGITATE, AGITATE, AGITATE.
