4. My point is that the media
Ignores the terrorist links and crimes against children they have supported from people masquerading as human right activist just as long as the report stories that paint the Syrian govt in a bad light. Also there are lots of picture of children who have died/injured at the hands of terrorists shelling govt controlled Aleppo but nobody cares about those kids because it doesn't promote our war against the Syrian govt.
Also, the Syriangirlpartisan made a very good commentary about this topic where she shows how the same activist pushing the story celebrated the deliberate killing(beheading) of the 12 yr old Palestinian boy at the hand of US backed rebels. He even took selfies with the beheaders and the media says nothing about it. I posted the video and within 2 mins was removed by the moderators. I am saddened by the situation of that boy but a lot of the people crying about this boy doesn't care about the million of other children dying in this war. |

5. I didn't see the photo as being a pro- or con- Syria statement . . .
. . . I saw it as a representation of the horrors of war. Which side was responsible for the boy's injuries is beside the point.

6. Maybe you didn't see it that way
But just about everyone from CNN to MSNBC to TYT is reporting it as Russia and The Syrian Army inflicting suffering on civilians. There is a reason why the 12 yr old boy beheaded by the US backed rebels did not get this same attention and that is because it doesn't help the people who want to overthrow the legitimate Syrian govt more than prevent any child suffering.
I will send you a link that I posted originally and after you view it, you would fully understand the agenda of the people pushing this one story. |

7. I didn't think in terms of blame. I just thought that little boy has had a miserable life so far.

8. typical BS from fake-news RT that loves Trump & neo-Nazis
The photographer plainly condemned the terrorists he was photographed with. But RT trots out regressive Kremlin-apologist Sara Flounders of the "International Anti-imperialist Coordinating Committee" to say the photographer supports terrorists, anyway--without any proof except that useful-idiot Flounders says so.
Flounders also regularly stars in Iran's state media in order to spout Kremlin talking points. She also was active in efforts to "shut down the Democratic National Convention." In other words, she hates the Democratic Party of the USA, but loves the totalitarian state media of Russia and Iran. Let's not forget that RT employed an actual neo-Nazi as an "expert" host until they got caught--and they still feature the neo-Nazi and his "reporting" on their website to this day! That's just one example among many of where RT is coming from. Regressives on DU have even happily linked to the neo-Nazi's RT propaganda lies. Pushing this one is the same. We know the twisted motivation behind it--to attack journalists that show the effects of Assad/Russia's constant and indiscriminate bombing of civilians, refugee camps, and hospitals. RT vids shoudn't be on DU or any website that believes in democracy. |

9. I have my doubts about this reporter being cozy with child killers
Any good journalist has to embed him or herself with dangerous elements in order to get the story. That takes courage. It takes a bit of pretending to not take issue with them and get along in order to get the story. It is a huge stretch to think that this reporter is actually sympathetic to child-beheaders.
BUT...the story does raise a point, that you'd never ever hear in North American mainstream news, about how each side uses children's misfortunes for their own benifit and censors the same type of tragedy if their side did the crime. And ironicaly your solution is even MORE censorship. Its not that difficult to refute obvious pro-Putin stories on RT, which do happen, with a bit of Googling. But censoring stories, no matter if they give us a different perspective and something to think about, just because of the messenger, or vehicle of the messenger, is regressive and self-defeating. BTW is Thom Hartmann ok now that he has left the shackles of RT? Or is he still working for Putin and forever stained? edit: I see Hartmann is still putting out shows with RT, even though he also does have his own independent radio show. So..I'd assume you think he's still brainwashed and working for the world domination of comrade Putin. |
