(15,480 posts)You guys have to listen to his intro! He lays it all out - over the decades he's been alive. Really powerful. As he said, "We need a person who can break the corporate stranglehold on this country."

(631 posts)from an actor and leader who seem to be getting younger every day.
It must be that perpetual idealism we've heard disparage so much around here.
We can out-dance the competition.

(15,139 posts)having lunch at the local deli one day seated at a table next to Dick Van Dyke. Knowing my mom, I'm sure she was glancing his way plenty. As he was leaving, the actor stopped by their table, said hello, and proceeded to chat it up with them for a few minutes. Made their day. Kind hearted soul and class act.Not surprised at all that he's a Bernie supporter.

(13,877 posts)I suspect this will be Bernie 15 years down the road. So much for ageism.

(1,327 posts)want us to think that Hillary and Trump are youngsters. Bernie has more energy than both and does more rallies. Go Bernie! Go!

(5,275 posts)The more the merrier on the Bernie Train.
Aging is so insidious, time just doesn't stop. High School seemed to take forever, as you get multiple decades down the road four years is a blink of the eye. I am sure Mr Van Dyke feels that big time at this point.
I wonder why his world view is so different than oh, Clint Eastwood. I play a lot of fairly high level women's' tennis and of my two best friends on the court the one I would have guessed as a republican right wing type is a progressive and vice versa. Go figure.
The easy answer seems like it involves levels of empathy, compassion, and greed but it can be mysterious.

(46,436 posts)a year is 1/15 or 1/17 of your life. By the time you're 70, like I am, a year is 1/70 of your life, just a tiny fraction. No wonder a year goes by so fast.
