Of course, when we think of George W. Bushs eight year reign of terror, one of the things we think about is the disgusting culture of torture that was enabled throughout the administration. But it turns out that it was even worse than we could have imagined. Ring of Fires Farron Cousins discusses this.

Sanders is probably our last chance to be free of these people, peacefully.

(10,495 posts)Obama proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a class of people and corporations that are above the law. If you don't investigate and prosecute you only encourage more wrongdoing. Do you think that there is a Wall Street banker who is afraid of prosecution for crimes (unless he/she stole from other rich people) by the government?
Not prosecuting Bush/Cheny & Co., for war crimes and many other violations of Federal law was the beginning of the end. This was rubbing our noses in it; pulling back the curtain; spiking the ball in our face, whatever you wish to call it. This followed swiftly by no Wall Street prosecutions, just appointments to the highest offices in the land in charge of our financial sector. You expect criminals to commit crimes, but when the "cops" turn a blind eye, we're really screwed.

Like a co-dependent, he enabled these people to thrive.

It was a shameful moment in which I lost all respect for him. Sure, I ultimately voted for him in 2012, but couldn't bring myself to support him in any other way.
