Obama initially began campaigning on having given one speech against Iraq War, prior to being in the Senate. He ran as a uniter, one who could reach out to Republicans to end gridlock, one who could end the quagmire in Iraq and have smart foreign policy.
He and Hillary were mocking John Edwards' populist message (just as he is doing now with Bernie) that had been formulated and laid out by Elizabeth Edwards. As John Edwards was doing very well and possibly might win Iowa, Obama began using Edwards populist material. He and Edwards would tag team in debates to undermine Hillary as the inevitable candidate who supported the war. Obama also lied about not having blunders financing his campaign with Wall Street money.
If you read Obama's book. He was pretty lost, just having some sense that he would like to do some good, as his unknown father tried to do. As soon as he was elected, he began filing his cabinet with corporate cronies and Clinton surrogates. Obama was not like Bernie at all. He hadn't fought for anything besides his own ambitious career. Bernie has a record of fighting for the things he believes in.
Hillary and Obama are very much the same. Beholden to the top 1% for campaign money that translate in being unable to do anything that might threaten their best interest and the endless flow of money into the Party.
Rest in peace Elizabeth Edwards. It is sad Americans are so forgetful.
