At a Donald Trump rally in Pensacola Florida, a trio of young girls performed a song and dance routine for the crowd. The video is sending chills down the spines of many people who are reminded of similar performances in North Korea. But it goes something along the lines of 'When American Democracy fails it will be brought down by an internal enemy wrapped in the flag and carrying a Bible, very' roughly paraphrased.

Anyone with any sense feels the fear of this type of Rampant Nationalism' being a harbinger of Fascism.

Hell yes, it has that, North Korean, fear factor!

6. The quote you're referring to is one often attributed to Sinclair Lewis...

... the exact quote being, "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross."

The problem is that there's no evidence Lewis ever wrote or uttered those words, not even in his novel It Can't Happen Here (1935), a satirical novel about the rise of an American dictator. The closest Lewis came to the quote in question was in a February 1948 story in The Gazette and Daily, a Pennsylvania newspaper, where he commented, "When fascism comes to the United States it will be wrapped in the American flag and will claim the name of 100-percent Americanism...."

Anyway, the flag-and-cross quote is wonderful, and, personally, I'm happy to give credit for it to Lewis, even if some of the details are a bit fuzzy.

Published by the University of Chicago in 1955, Milton Mayer's book, "They Thought They Were Free" tells how the German people were lulled into accepting change in German society in the run up to World War II.

It has been noted that Trumps' speeches contain no content, only short phrasing, intended to rouse the masses.

The way that the Trump organization gains continuous free access to the press all the while manipulating the presses access to Trump himself. The mongering of fear, identification and highlighting 'them' verses 'us', the demagoguery, all points to a very scary reflection of a what I hope is a sub-set of American society.

Disclaimer : it is true that it is considered poor form to make comparisons of modern politics to any elements of the Nazi regime, however in this case I am leaning heavily on personal experience as my parents and my uncles fought in that conflict.
