Jeb Bush has been trying very hard to walk the line of seeming moderate enough on the issue of immigration to not turn off hispanic voters, while at the same time seeming xenophobic enough to be allowed to continue being a Republican candidate. Donald Trump responded in a late night Twitter storm of RANDOMLY capitalized WORDS. Cenk Uygur and John Iadarola (Think Tank), hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down. "GOP presidential hopeful Jeb Bush claimed on Monday that his use of the term anchor babies was not offensive because he was referring to the practice of people, primarily Asians, coming to the U.S. and taking advantage of birthright citizenship.
Bush used the term last week in an interview with conservative radio host Bill Bennett in reference to "birth tourism," which is the growing phenomenon of groups of Chinese women paying agencies to bring them to the U.S. to have their babies so that they can grow up as American citizens.*

(4,695 posts)It was useful to native Spanish speakers, of the Americas, because there are many new modern things that did not have a translation in the back lands of Mexico, Central, South America and to some degree, North America; take for instance, illegal and legal immigrants. Mexico was very behind on things like electricity, plumbing and other infrastructure, and many more services and modern devices.
If you have ever listened to radio transmissions in the Southwest, you will hear Mexican spoken through repeating towers. Keep in mind that Verizon, just bought the right to rework cell phone service in Mexico, by purchasing the only three fledgling cell phone companies that Mexico has.
JEB is certainly no person of the Southwest unless he is use to helping out with or listening in on, the War Against Drugs, effort. I have heard that the Bush's play a part in the drug problem.
