Some are,the vast majority aren't.

I hate blanket statements like that.

If cops kill they are never wrong. I hate that cops think because they have a badge and a gun they are all powerful,they can talk to people any kind of way with no respect if they want respect they need to approach with respect. In the vast majority of cases most people aren't criminals the cops turn them into criminals.

6. Perhaps not all cops are, individually, corrupt . . . BUT

. . . they participate in a police culture that is outrageously corrupt, and they all bear some of the stain of that. I say that, btw, as someone who has two family members who are cops.

9. That's not the point

A. As others have said the police culture is corrupt and police are often under trained or psychologically unfit for the job.

and

B. Moreover, police corruption is a big problem. People who are corrupt in fields unrelated to the law do suck and can ruin your day - a corrupt police officer can ruin your life.

For example, you have a shitty car salesman that sells you a crappy car. Big deal, you're out some money and you might even be able to sue him. Another example, you have a shitty professor who gives you an F. Might make you mad, but in the end you won't care because you can retake the class with someone else.

You have a shitty cop? You get shot through the spine and paralyzed when he thinks you were reaching for a gun (but you were reaching for your driver's license instead).
