TYT: Video Catches Cop Planting Drugs, Assaulting Unarmed Black Man

"Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) and John Iadaola (https://twitter.com/jiadarola) host of The Young Turks discuss the continuing case of Floyd Dent, a Michigan man who was pulled over and savagely beaten during a routine traffic stop for no reason.

Floyd Dent, a 57 year old black man, was pulled over on January 28 during what should have been a routine traffic stop. Instead he was dragged out of his vehicle, repeatedly bunched and tased until he was left with broken bones and blood on his brain. Dent was originally arrested for resisting arrest and for crack cocaine found under his passenger seat that he claims was planted. Thanks to video evidence, it has been proven that not only did Dent not resist arrest but that one of the Police Officers, William “Robocop” Melendez, clearly planted a small bag of drugs. Despite having a debatably cool nickname, this is not the first time this officer has been charged with planting evidence at a crime scene.

Dent was offered a plea deal that he has refused to accept, continuing to claim innocence.”

Just like any other job, workers who display drive and produce results (i.e. tickets and arrest) get the praise of superiors and the
respect of coworkers. But for a police officer, results could also mean no break-ins in your patrol area. Thus the saying " I need to
be able to see the fruits of your labors" may need to be rethought.
