"In an interview with ABCs Nightline, Christian Bale described his Exodus: Gods and Kings character Moses as a freedom fighter and a terrorist against the slaveholding Egyptian empire.
Enter Fox & Friends with a segment ridiculing the actors comments part of their regular Fight for Faith segment (normally reserved for stories on the persecution of Christians and/or Todd Starnes).
[He was] absolutely seen as a freedom fighter, Bale said. A terrorist, in terms of the Egyptian empire. What would happen to Moses if he arrived today? Drones would turn out after him, right?
He certainly wasnt thinking about drones, Father Jonathan Morris reacted Tuesday morning on Fox. The priest attempted to rationalize Bales thoughts, noting that the actor likely meant to describe Moses aggressive tactics in freeing the Hebrew slaves."* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Check the box for terrorist in my opinion. At least Abraham tried to argue with God about Sodom.
Same goes for Joshua (genocide including killing of children), many of the Judges, David (foreskins of the vanquished as a dowry - that rates right up there with filmed beheadings).
The Old Testament is a savage book for anyone who cares to read it.

(16,423 posts)Imagine a movie where the protagonist brings in a contract-killer to kill hundreds and thousands of babies to force a dictator's hand. Would you describe the protagonist as a hero?

(18,998 posts)They think that everything in the bible is good...and that is clearly not the case at all, just as any recounting of history (and that is what it is whether it is all true or not), is all about good things.
And the tragic irony of it is that Jesus set them strait on what is good and what is evil, and though He is their object of worship they ignore every last word of it.
And this can be tested with a red letter bible...just read the red letter parts, and you will find no instance where he says that any of that was good, and in fact will find the strongest condemnation of it there in his words.
And yet religion, both Muslim and Christians have convinced their flock of blind sheep that it was all good.
we do indeed live in strange times.

(17,862 posts)damnation in unquenchable fire. Sounds like a terrorist threat to me. If he is God he has the means at his disposal to do this. If not then he is still a terrorist - just not able to act on his threats.
I don't agree with every point on this list, but here is one summary:

And your quote about the smiting is not God speaking it is Moses...makeing the laws for Isreal...again it is history not the voice of god or even his will that is the OT...men wrote it and it is about men.
