Jon Stewart blasts ex-AIG chief: ‘Go f*ck yourself’ for crying over $184 billion bailout

“Hello, Mr. Greenberg,” Stewart said, impersonating a loan officer. “You’ve asked us for $184.6 billion for 90 percent of your company, which is only worth $15 billion … go f*ck yourself.”

Stewart pointed out that, while the U.S. paid more than 1,000 percent of AIG’s market value at the time of the bailout, Greenberg filed a lawsuit painting himself as a victim of government extortion.

“You’re angry that they wouldn’t lend to you at less than 14 percent,” Stewart said. “Yeah, we hate it, too, only we call it having a credit card. And we don’t sue over those rates because we can’t.”

As a rule, Stewart said, extortionists and kidnappers try to extract money from their victims — not take their dog, force them to accept a large cash payment and then return the dog anyway. He also shot down Greenberg’s claim that AIG’s bailout terms were less favorable than those offered to banks like Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.

I still can't believe the nerve of these assholes! These guys have no shame. There is nothing you can do to them to make them feel any compassion for people that aren't as rich as them. Just for saying what he said he should be water boarded, repeatedly, in public.

My boss is "old school" (his words): prefers to think welfare queens and other moochers have tanked the economy. Goes without saying that he's racist, homophobic, fundamentalist, AND Republican. He fancies himself of the same ilk as the uber wealthy criminals who've usurped our media, our politics AND our global economy--only he views them as heroes.

I met a guy once who owned a lumberyard who believed he was part of the 1% because FOX "News" told him to total everything he had and if it comes to a million, well, you are who the Dems want to tax.

These types can't visualize the idle rich who make more in an hour than they make in a year.

They are universally Republican and in general the kind of people I would watch burn to death rather than urinate on.

He thinks his meager 'estate' compares to those of the bazillionaires who've usurped our media, our politics, AND our global economy.

I've scotched his rants, however. When he was full out dissing 'welfare frauds' (his code words for people whose skin isn't pale like his), I did research and informed him that -- using the HIGHEST figure I could find for annual welfare fraud (and I didn't separate out the corporate welfare fraud that is the BIGGEST part of that pie), and the LOWEST figure I could find for how much the Wall Street Criminals cost taxpayers in 2008, I discovered that it would take over FIVE HUNDRED YEARS for welfare fraud to cost us as much as the Wall Street Fraudsters cost us. He hasn't ranted in front of me since.

Even places that were paid for.

All to keep some bastard on a golf course from seeing any effect on his wealth.

I wonder if there's anyone out there who agrees with Greenberg's position? Maybe his attorney but he's being paid to.
