I laughed at the sight of men running up close to the very slow-moving flaming lava...

Daredevils!

Not sure whether that's bravery or foolishness -- looks a little dangerous.

How beautiful the lava flow and eruptions are against the night sky background.

The lava is thick and viscous, and moves very slowly.

I still wouldn't get that close!

And yes, the flows and eruptions are gorgeous against the night sky.

Wow. It brought back memories of a trip to Hawaii during a live flow on the big island. After a passing rainstorm chased everyone away (including park rangers) we got to walk right up to the lava flow and actually used two flat rocks to pick up some lava... it was thick, rubbery and pretty lightweight.

Got back to the hotel after running around the flow for awhile and excitedly told the night clerk 'We got to play in the volcano!'... he smiled and said 'I can see that'.

Got back to the room and looked in the mirror! OMG, our faces were covered with soot! Had no idea! Anyway, it was as beautiful as the video shows. Slow. Dramatic and awe inspiring. Thanks for posting this video.

of the Mapuche, told me every time a volcano smoked. This was in Chile, when I was a child. Now it seems our mother is coughing.

in Iceland. I haven't seen it before.

I won't be surprised to see the main volcano erupt soon.

right now, visiting the volcano.

I think his wife knew when she married him that my son is one of the most inquisitive people she will ever meet. He could not pass up the chance to see this!
