a couple of places where there is a man walking from the camera to the barn wearing no hat. Those guys sure look like Mennonites. Amish and Mennonites work together and they have communities close to each other. Mennonites will own pickup trucks and station wagons or vans.

You'll notice that the two links are not in complete agreement. Part of this is due to regional variances, part from the fact that they were written by "English ", and also because religious matters are never simple.

We have Amish in our area, but not Mennonites. I think the community lifestyle is appealing sans religion. It's so efficient, but seems to have lost it's appeal to the masses. Everyone for themselves:/

You better have faith that whoever nailed them in, did so in a deliberate manner. I've seen a guy take a fall when someone with a nail gun missed a stretch. Luckily it was on the first floor and he fell into the basement with only a few scrapes and bruises.

I side on caution unless I'm the one that nailed it down.

It's tough to get a bunch of egomaniacs to set aside their need to stand out in order to get the job done.

I work in the sciences, and have to say the ego trip that many are on is unlike anything I've ever had to work with in any of the trades (carpentry, restaurant). Kind of a libertarian mindset amongst many (although they mainly vote D). Thankfully, large groups can create critical mass

We had Mennonites as neighbors and one day the men in the clan, about twenty of them, gathered to build a home for their daughter. It was a beautiful, well built home that was completed within a few days.
