Make a Clean Break, California!

Actresses Amy Smart, Eva Amurri, Dawn Olivieri, and Emmanuelle Chriqui ask Gov. Jerry Brown to make a "clean break" with fossil fuels and commit to replacing the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station with 100% clean energy. Clean energy creates jobs, cleans up the environment, and it's how we're going to grow our economy in a sustainable way. That's the commitment we should make.

And although I am not among them (electric bill not high enough) let those with solar panels sell excess electricity to the grid for as long as their panels work. Please.

I'm all for clean energy, but this commercial is rather vapid.

Come on, Sierra club, you can do better than that.

Hell, I love women - period. But yeah, they could likely find a guy or two to sing along, no? We need clean, green energy too.

The Sierra Club could make any kind of video it wanted if it had a few spare million to buy air time for it.

Back here in the real world, though, our side almost always has to worry about how to get people to watch the spot, post it on message boards, send it to their friends, etc. If the corporate media start talking about the video, even if only to condemn it, that's even better.

Four beautiful actresses have a better chance of getting that kind of multiplier effect than would, say, four experts on energy who are also noncelebrity middle-aged men. And I say that as a noncelebrity middle-aged man.

I'll bet some people dislike the video because the actresses aren't wearing bikinis. In today's corrupt media world, that isn't as outlandish a reaction as it should be.
