Related: About this forumTSA Nabs Suspected Al Queda Terrorist At Chicago Airport, A toddler in a wheelchair
Uploaded by mattonair on Mar 17, 2012
This video was taken in in the spring of 2010 at either O'Hare or Midway Airport.
A toddler in a wheelchair is stopped by the TSA at the Airport in Chicago and forced to into a sequestered area. On his way to a family vacation in Disney, this 3 year old boy is in a body cast for a broken leg. Despite assurances from his father that "everything is ok", he is physically trembling with fear while he watches his two siblings, mother, father, grandfather and grandmother pass through along with everyone else...only to be singled out.
He simply does not understand what is happening and why.

Sometime about 7,8 years ago, I was flying to Hawaii for a conference (alas, the pain) when I saw a man in front of me being searched. In his 80s, wearing a suit, carrying what was obviously an urn of a loved one. They forced him to pour the ashes of his dead wife out, and sift through them. Then, they took away a diamond encrusted nail clipper, a gift from his wife, they destroyed it in front of his face, and threw it away. Turns out he was heading to Hawaii to bury the ashes.
Everyone in that terminal had one thought on their minds, ASSHOLES.

(28,979 posts)I hope he brought back some pumice from Madame Pele for them to confiscate. Nothing like being cursed by a Hawaiian goddess to slow an overeager TSA agent down.

(130,768 posts)OP noted, above, that s/he hadn't noticed its age.
There has been outrage, and imo things have improved. Flying next week; will let everyone know how it goes. When I have flown in recent years, I've noticed polite and reasonable behavior by TSA.
