But wait - didn't Chief Justice Roberts say this week that Jim Crow is dead and we live in a post-racial society so the Voting Rights Act is outdated and unnecessary???? Not on this planet! Now the states that came under those restrictions for historical abuses are falling all over themselves trying to erect new barriers to minority voting.

I'll never forget hearing that once when our current President made a campaign stop at a restaurant, some guy supposed he must be a waiter and tried to demand service! Now that was some time ago and a detail or two might've warped on the story's way to me, but I know it's credible and believe it's true, having been half a biracial couple for over 7 years. Don't get me started on the things I saw.
