1. The New Black Panthers voter intimidation
was a gentleman in Philly holding the door open for voters. Fox kept showing the video. Voters were supposed to be scared, apparently, because he was black. Of course it was in an African American neighborhood, but why muddy the story with facts?

they have been the only network to go so much in depth with that non-story. Damn race-baiting sickos.

8. Yeah, bitter old retired white dudes
and they're dying off like crazy. Or they are finally waking up. Or they're too old to put up much of a fuss when the wife tunes the radio to a nice FM station.
Limbag's daily dose of hate isn't selling as well to younger listeners. |

11. I picture some guy in a harvester...
![]() .......back and forth across the same field from dawn til dusk while the wife watches soaps. These are the people who see a budget airline pass overhead and think the government is spraying them with mind controlling drugs. |

12. Well, the wife aint watchin soaps.
She's had to feed the chickens and pigs, gather eggs, possibly milk a cow or goat. If it's harvest season, she's also canning veggies for the winter, all day every day, plus mend her husband's clothing and make new clothing for herself and the kids because there's not much in town and Walmart's clothes wear out too fast. She's also cooking three meals a day because the nearest McPtomaine's is an hour's drive away.
The guy in the Harvester isn't listening to Limbag, the machine's too damned noisy to pay attention to words. He's got a C&W station on because part of the news broadcast is the latest price on his wheat or sorghum. He'll stop the machine for a minute to listen to the price reports. They did a study on the demographic and found it was suburban white males, bitter and retired, who'd earned enough money to stay in the middle class after retirement but didn't have a lot to spare on the traveling he always dreamed about doing while he was young enough to enjoy it. And he's angry. And Limbag gives him all the wrong targets for that anger. Limbag's people aren't the hard working people who grow our food. They get their disinformation from a pulpit on Sunday and from Pox News every evening during the week, if they've got cable or satellite. |

13. Things have changed. He used to have that audience....
In places like Orange County California there were the "dynamic young men" of the mid to late 90's that strutted around and openly and proudly called themselves "dittoheads" as they parroted his latest show like it was their own thoughts.
He lost a LOT of his rural audience when his drug use was revealed and lost a lot of the younger urban ones when being a "ditthead" turned out to be neither an instant promotion, or much of a chick magnet. |

5. I keep reading here about how limbaugh is losing listeners and his syndicators are going tits up
and yet the reality is somewhat different.
When it comes to radio stations, it's the stations who carry Democratic/progressive shows that are dropping like flies. Since the first of the year, I personally know of four stations that carried the usual lineup of Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller, Tom Hartmann, et al that have flipped formats to something other than "progressive talk". I have heard of any stations that carry right wing nut talkers changing formats. Terrestrial radio as a whole is a medium in a lot of trouble yet the right wing babblers do not seem to be feeling the pinch at all. |

6. Their pinch got felt by non AM listeners....
Hence 2008, and 2012, they can talk, but can't change the minds of normal, responsible americans,
AM Rush, Hannity, et all is fun if you hate Libs and Obama, But it didn't change the outcome. Obama Got 2 terms, despite the hate. |

16. And that's what really matters-after elections when the Dems win progressives move on...
Republicans have the hate going now and continue to tune in - if another republican fascist is elected prez - progressive/liberal listeners will again increase in larger numbers. - that's an absolute....
It's one of the reasons Dems get their asses kicked in mid-term elections like 2014 coming up next year....they sweem to lose interest once a Dem prez is in and elected for 4 years especially the second term. |

7. I am starting to think RW radio maybe our "friend".
I really don't know how to put this. But, it seems the more the RW talks the more people flee the RW side. I don't think it makes them liberal, but it sure seems to drive them away in droves to go elsewhere. A recent focus group called the RWers toxic and other nice things to that effect.

10. It's not his talking shit that drives me up a wall.
I expect nothing but drivel from this hate monger. It's the way he enunciates the shit that makes me gag. Like he thinks it makes his bullshit sound more intellectual when all it does it make him sound even more like the pompous ass that he is.

17. Why would they listen to him?
Because it's a lot easier to have someone to blame and hate for everything that goes wrong with your life than to take responsibility for your own failings. Yes what congress does can affect our lives but that's to many to keep track of, so Rush narrows it down to a manageable number they can count on one hand.
