Thom Hartmann vs Cliff May: Still Defending Bush After All These Years

(From the Feb. 20 show) Thom Hartmann debates Clifford "Cliff" May, President-Foundation for Defense of Democracies, over why former President George W. Bush chose to invade Iraq.

I'm sure most of you have heard May's tired pablum non stop since 2003. However, I was only in sixth grade when the war began, so luckily for me I became well-informed about the war as I became more interested in politics around 2006, as Bush's case for war unraveled and the horrid truth came out in the later years.

And while those unprecedented, worldwide marches against their obviously drummed-up case for invasion were going on, they were mocking them. Fox News was running lines in the crawl like "don't these people have jobs?".

I mean, they very actively engaged in marginalizing anyone who pointed out any of the very obvious flaws in their arguments for invasion-- and then somehow throw all of that in the mental junk drawer and insist 'we were ALL fooled', or that they still made the right decision since the critics, though correct, were correct for the wrong reasons.

They cherry-picked CIA "intelligence", lied, set up a situation that was run by fear and worry that votes not be interpreted as "patriotic", lied some more, and then did what W wanted to do as early as 1999 or sooner. So I'm not sure why Thom even brought Mr. May on his show...maybe just to show how the RWers still are promoting the Shrub Lies...I really don't know.
