Dexter Filkins knows plenty about Iraq, his comments on the current mess are worth a look

First Falluja, then Mosul, and now the oil-refinery town of Bayji. The rapid advance of Al Qaeda-inspired militants across the Sunni heartland of northern and western Iraq has been stunning and relentless—and utterly predictable. Here’s a forecast: the bad news is just beginning.
Iraq’s collapse has been driven by three things:.

Filkins names THREE reasons for the current situation:

1.The war in Syria.....how is that Obama's fault?

2.the policies of Nuri Al-Maliki, Iraq’s Prime Minister. ...how is that Obama's fault?

and the 3rd reason:
"When the Americans invaded, in March, 2003, they destroyed the Iraqi state—its military, its bureaucracy, its police force, and most everything else that might hold a country together. "

How is that Obama's fault?
Filkins points out.."President Obama wanted the Americans to come home, and Maliki didn’t particularly want them to stay. "

Please point out in the article where you see the 3 reasons given by the author being Obama's fault.

"The negotiations between Obama and Maliki fell apart, in no small measure because of a lack of engagement by the White House."
Struck me as the one that Republicans would focus on. I can hear to now...If only the White House paid more attention kind of response.
Like I said. Maybe I am over sensitive.

There is nothing the White House can do that will not be used as damn if you do=-damn if you don't fodder by the Republicans. I just assume they will scream and pee about anything Obama does or does not do.
Meanwhile, I continue to think for myself.

The article for instance....It was lengthy, had some good points, and ONE sentence erases the import of the whole thing fir you?

You reacted by saying "According to this article it's all Obama's fault." and calling the entire article "BS".

Just like the Republicans you say are worried about.
