Newt Goes Full ‘Occupy Wall Street’ Against Romney

http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/01/newt-goes-full-occupy-wall-street-against-romney.php

MANCHESTER, NH — “You have to ask the question, is capitalism really about the ability of a handful of rich people to manipulate the lives of thousands of people and then walk off with the money?”

Who said it — Elizabeth Warren? Dennis Kucinich? Noam Chomsky?

Not quite, that was Newt Gingrich talking to reporters at an energy company in Manchester on Monday about his new effort to paint Mitt Romney as a greedy one-percenter who finds “clever legal ways” to go about “looting a company” while screwing over its workers.

Gingrich’s argument against Romney over Bain’s history of downsizing has become increasingly similar to the Occupy Wall Street crowd’s criticism of the financial system, let alone national Democrats. Compare his latest attacks to, say, DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who is spearheading the party’s current anti-Romney effort.

without a clear winner until the very end (if then). Because I would LOVE to see them having this conversation, which you know will change once a candidate is selected.

Just like the tea party swung them too far to the right and gave them a gaggle of presidential candidates that might be too unpalatable to the general electorate, Citizens United has wound up shooting them in the foot. Republicans never learn. They keep forgetting the number one rule about creating monsters: monsters invariably turn on their creators.

can't stand Romney. So--to have Newt say something like this is...fascinating.

all the goppers will be focusing on Pres O.

I believe Mitten will destroy himself because he has foot in mouth syndrome. Many gop voters will not hold their nose for him because number one - they believe his religion is a cult. My brother and his friends who are all conservative goppers will not vote for him and will wait for 2016.

Just weeks ago, Newt was slamming Occupy and calling them lazy dirty hippy socialists/communists and now?

Abracadabra! He turns right around and uses some of the same anti capitalist arguments as Occupy!

Gee Newt did your private polling reveal the towering hatred of the 1% wall street bastards that most Americans now have?

Welcome to the club you filthy lyin hypocrite!

We knew Romney was job-killing scum long ago, but it would be hard to get the right wing to believe it.

Now one of the right wing's stars is telling the truth.

I wonder if we can just rebroadcast these in the general election after the Republicans have started trying to suppress them.
