First four para:
A central predicament of President Bidens campaign is how to persuade voters to abandon Donald Trump.
In 2012 the Obama campaign turned a nice guy, Mitt Romney, into a piece of crap, Steve Murphy, a co-founder of the Democratic media firm MVAR Media, told me. You cant do that to Trump because everybody already knows hes a piece of crap.
Not only do voters know that Trump is a liar and corrupt, narcissistic and venal; his supporters have repeatedly found ways to slide past his liabilities.
In April, before the former president was convicted on 34 felony counts by a New York jury, and again this month, after he was found guilty, YouGov asked voters: Do you think someone who has been convicted of a felony should be allowed to become president?

Their constant "both sides do it", and false equivalencies helped bring us to where we are today.
When George Wallace was running for president, there was actually a press that exposed Wallace for what he was.
Thanks to Murdochn empire, and others with the extreme right wing controlling 95% of the talk hate radio air waves none of this is surprising.
Why would a thug like Steve Bannon and others even get a radio show?

(9,043 posts)All of these right wing talking heads are weirdos. Shallow to a fault. Their audience will never hear 'both sides' or they'd turn the radio/TV off.

And they want entertainment, not leadership. Same theme as Sarah Palin in 2008. (My friend said Palin "looked like fun." )

(7,247 posts)Trump says attacks on him are attacks on his followers.
Okay, if you want to have him shed followers like an animal sheds parasites then make the host unlivable.
Always show fumbling photos, video clips, and embarrassing memes. Humiliate the orange man. Make his followers embarrassed because they think the stink will rub off on them. Trump will be embarrassed and so will his devotees for following, and being conned, by an obviously flawed salesman. They arent patriots to their idol, theyre only customers.
In cases like this, give him what he wantsthe scorn of society. The rest of his flock arent as eager to be scorned 24/7 everywhere they go like him. Theyll grow tired of that shit.
