Memphis Police Chief Deliberately Covered Up Child Sex Crimes In Her Department

Memphis Police Chief Deliberately Covered Up Child Sex Crimes In Her Department

The worst kind of corruption occurs among those who are set up to uphold law but secretly are covering up crimes and are actively involved in them. However, when it comes to crimes against children, it’s even more vile and abominable and that much more worthy of death. Well, Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis, you know the woman whose officers beat Tyre Davis to death, was fired for deliberately covering up child sex crimes in her department.

Davis was demoted from major to lieutenant and then fired in 2008 after a city investigation found her at fault for taking “no action” on the case of a police sergeant’s husband who ultimately pleaded guilty to a federal charge of producing child pornography.

Two detectives claimed Davis had ordered them not to investigate Terrill Marion Crane after police found sexually explicit images of him with underage girls. His wife, Sgt. Tonya Crane, resigned before the department could discipline her.

7. The Washington Standard is new, but seems pretty Right Wing

They ran an article (link below) attacking Media Bias Fact Check for giving them a bad rating. The thing is, I found MBFC originally cause a smart conservative I was arguing online with it kept citing it to assess the reliability of sources I would use.

2. Blue wall

And the police wonder why they are not trusted. All they do is whine about how they are portrayed and demonized by everyone else unfairly. They never look in the mirror.

4. She was fired but then reinstated.

"She was fired in 2008 after being accused of telling officers to not investigate a sex crimes case involving an Atlanta police sergeant, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She was later reinstated after challenging the allegations, the outlet reported, and continued working there until 2016, when she moved to North Carolina to lead the Durham Police Department."
