Stop Calling It An Attempted Coup
Stop calling it an attempted Coup.
At best, it was a failed coup. At worst, because it was political coup, it will take years to determine if the coup was successful. So, far - it looks successful. The Supremes were stacked and folded. The DOJ remains incapacitated. The U.S military did not engage on the 6th, but sitting on the sidelines could have been benign or overt support for the coup, as well. If only, James Comey had kept his mouth shut. Hillary would be in her second term and we would have a favorable Supreme Court for the rest of our lives.

1. Hillary would be in her second term and we would have a favorable Supreme Court for the rest of our
lives. Now, we have this shit to deal with.

2. Repugs have encouraged administrative coups in Latin America for years - so naturally they'd import
the tactic here at home before long.

3. GOP tactics are right from the KGB and CIA handbooks.
On how to overthrow governments we don't like.
It was only a matter of time before these tactics were used on the US. |

4. It was a failed coup. Yes, there could be another attempt. SCOTUS, DOJ, etc are clear
signs of dysfunction in the U.S., government. The military fucked up making an appearance with Trump at the Lafayette Square fascist attack on peaceful protestors, and were reluctant to become involved again without clear orders from the chain of command. Jan 6 was a situation that should nave been handled by the National Guard and the police, not the military.

6. Bill Maher has called it a "slow-moving coup" for quite some time...
... even BEFORE Jan 6th.
