Trump Is Killing the Economy Out of Spite

So what will he do if he loses the election?

By Paul Krugman

Last year Donald Trump called Nancy Pelosi, the House speaker, a “nasty, vindictive, horrible person.” Actually, she isn’t — but he is.

Trump’s vindictiveness has become a major worry as the election approaches. He has already signaled that he won’t accept the result if he loses, which seems increasingly likely though not certain. Nobody knows what chaos, possibly including violence, he may unleash if the election doesn’t go his way.

Even aside from that concern, however, a defeated Trump would still be president for two and a half months. Would he spend that time acting destructively, in effect taking revenge on America for rejecting him?

Well, we got a preview of what a lame-duck Trump presidency might look like Tuesday. Trump hasn’t even lost yet, but he abruptly cut off talks on an economic relief package millions of Americans desperately need (although as of Thursday he seemed to be backtracking). And his motivation seems to have been sheer spite.

That’s the theory or what Mitch was doing. Trump doesn’t need to be told. He circles make and punches down when he “WINS”. A colossal loss like what is likely could bring out a “killer” like we’ve rarely seen. Not that he’s going to kill anyone but he could unleash all his loyalist to exact revenge. If Barr is on board, they could severely hurt a lot of people.

Unhinged, uncontrolled Orangetan will attack and seek revenge on America and Democrats. "America will pay for voting me out" he'll plot. And as Republicans always do, they will leave an incredible mess of things. Which will impinge on Democrats both in time and budgetary restraints for some time until, as usual, we will clean up after the elephants herd poops.

Pay attention when Trump claims the economy is going down the drain if he is not reelected.

He is telling us what condition he is going to leave the country in.

For many years we've seen the Obama-Biden economy grow from out of the ashes of the Bush administration. After 8 years of constant growth, Trump took credit for it (and was not strongly refuted by the Dems).

All we hoped was that Trump would not interfere with that growth.....but he did. And now Joe and Kamala need to jump-start the economy. THIS time, Dems, claim what is rightfully ours- credit for growth, stabilization and a more equitable economy for all Americans.
