Trump says insulin is now so cheap, it's 'like water.' It isn't

There was much to dislike in this weeks presidential debate the lies, the rudeness, the inability of the White House incumbent to rise above the level of a cranky kindergartner.

For me, the low point came not when President Trump refused to condemn white supremacy, and not when he tore into the sons of Democratic candidate Joe Biden, but when he once again sought to convince the American people that he had single-handedly lowered the cost of prescription drugs.

Trump claimed that drug prices will be coming down 80% or 90% thanks to him.

He claimed that a series of executive orders have forced pharmaceutical companies to slash prices.

And the one that floored me: Trump claimed that the cost of insulin is now so low, its practically free.

Im getting it for so cheap, its like water, he said. You want to know the truth? So cheap.

Like water.

1. Is he a diagnosed diabetic?

If not, why is he 'getting it for so cheap' in the first place? Or is he just benefitting from government run healthcare?

Which is it Trump?

16. If not, maybe he should. It's used therapeutically in the treatment of certain mental illnesses.

8. The guy who made the first insulin by engineed

Bacteria, wanted insulin to never be patented.
He wanted it to be sold at low prices because it's nesessary to live if you're diabetic. I take meds for diabeties hope I never have to go on insulin.

14. Inventor put insulin in the public market

And also specified that it could never be sold for more than its actual production cost.
Years later, a company bought the patent, spent years in court, and won a court case that the no profit rule did not apply to them as the new holder of the patent.

5. Based on production costs

Insulin should cost less than $10/month.
The reason it costs about $400/month is all about profit.

12. Miserable, lying fuckhole.

If it weren't for insurance, each small vial of insulin would cost me several hundred dollars. I've heard rumors of prices coming down, but I certainly don't believe them.

15. Insulin cost

Is a major reason I want the ynx route stomach surgery. It will reduce my stomach to the size of a fist.
Secondly it has an 80-90% cure rate to eliminate diabeties.

Recovery will be hell and I will have to take suppliments all my life and forever eat small portions often ,afterwards but if it ends my diabeties,it's worth it.
