Donald Trump has already lost the Supreme Court ruling over his tax returns, but his lawyers are still filing dead-end motions in the hope of stalling things a bit before Trump’s accounting firm ultimately hands the tax returns over to the Manhattan District Attorney. Trump’s latest court filings over the matter just gave something away.

As Palmer Report is fond of pointing out, grand juries literally only exist for one reason: to bring criminal indictments against people. As soon as it became public knowledge that the New York grand jury was seeking Trump’s tax returns, it meant by definition that the grand jury was in the process of indicting Trump on state charges. One of the big questions has been whether the grand jury will indict Trump before the election. It turns out Trump’s lawyers are worried about this scenario.

In their new court filing, Trump’s lawyers specifically stated their fear that if the New York grand jury indicts Trump before the election, the contents of his tax returns could end up becoming public knowledge as part of the indictment filing. In such case voters could be swayed to vote against Trump based on what’s in his tax returns.

demand he leave office & I don't THINK they can actually prosecute him while in office either. I hope I'm wrong, but afraid not.

protected at the federal level by McConnell and Barr. But at the state level he has no protections

That, explicitly in the text, includes the President. The Constitution does not prohibit state-level indictments of any official, including the President. There is an infamous DOJ memo which says DOJ won't prosecute, but it's unconstitutional and illegal in my opinion.

"Article 1, Section 3, Clauses 6 and 7

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried the Chief Justice shall preside; And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

Judgement in Cases of Impreachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgement and Punishment, according to Law."

That last bit is crucial. It says that, even if you're impeached (i.e. regardless of whether you're impeached), which is a political consequence, you are still entirely liable for legal consequences. Some people incorrectly (and deliberately) misinterpret this as exclusive, but the language is very clearly inclusive.

It's his real hair, it's just that it only grows out of like 3 spots on his head ... then he swirls it all around in a fruitless attempt to make it look like he has a normal head of hair.

It's a multi-directional combover job.

This guy must be a real asshole, just like trump. Look at his rug on photo 3!

Regardless of whether it’s trumps own hair, he won’t have all the sprays he needs to hold it into place. It could be more entertaining than this clown, and that’s hard to beat!

In New York, grand juries consist of between 16 and 23 members. Only 12 need to decide to indict (called issuing a true bill).

I’m not here to argue - just to share my sob story . I’ve experienced a lot of rage and anxiety since January 2026, and have gone to various sites to try to get some hope that trump would be thwarted each time he pulls one of his power grabbing stunts, or that he would finally be taken down...somehow. “Palmer Report” had an allure as it seemed to me that writers there - especially Bill Palmer - claimed to have some interesting inside tips, or maybe more commonly, some great insight about what was going to happen based on their powers of deduction and logic. I don’t know how many times I read Palmer himself writing something along the lines of “I said it here first but nobody believed me.” Well, I stopped even thinking he could be believable when he claimed some unique insight or source, as I found him wrong time after time. I’m sure I’m spouting some hyperbole, and I’m not even going to go back to dig up examples, because I am so over “Palmer Report.”

I wonder why socially it's okay for a women to wear wigs but not men.
I'm not a wig wearer myself, and I would hate it—they seem itchy—but I would guess it's just another societal thang.
