The president's inhumanity is deeper than we knew By George T. Conway III

The presidentís inhumanity is deeper than we knew

Just as crises can provide a test of anyoneís character, they do so especially with presidents. We stand burdened with watching a president fail his test, in cataclysmic fashion, and with the nation suffering the consequences.

.........So much of Trumpís inaptness and ineptness in these and other matters stems from his exceptional narcissism, and the empathic deficit that attends it. Few who have considered it would today doubt, as Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) so perceptively put it in 2016, that Trump was ďa narcissist at a level I donít think this country has ever seen.Ē
AD

But itís more than just narcissism that drives this failing, flailing president. However difficult they can be, even extreme narcissists can have consciences. They donít necessarily cast aside behavioral standards or laws, or lie ceaselessly with reckless abandon. Trumpís behavior is conscienceless, showing utter disregard for the safety of others, consistent irresponsibility, callousness, cynicism and disrespect of other human beings. Contempt for truth and honesty, and for norms, rules and laws. A complete inability to feel remorse, or guilt. As a New Yorker profile of Trump put it nearly a quarter-century ago, Trump lives ďan existence unmolested by the rumbling of a soul.Ē Thatís Donald Trumpís problem yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Itís our problem, too, for now: We remain governed by a soulless man with a broken mind. The damage will continue, and it wonít stop until voters end it. Come November, it will be up to the eligible human population of this country to look to their souls, their consciences, their humanity ó and to cast their votes for one of their own.

6. The question I keep asking myself about Mr. Conway is, how can he square his antipathy

and clear-eyed observations of the Orange Toadstool with his wife's overzealous, near obsessive, defense of her boss.

I find this excuse revolting, but I suspect itís the best defense that the two of them have.

13. Her defense of Trump comes off as a joke . It's performance art on her part

I think she hates Trump also but stays there to keep her right wing fans.

7. No. It's just narcissistic personality disorder.

Trust me. Thatís plenty bad, all by itself, and no other explanation is needed. Trump is a textbook case.

10. This POS is more than

narcissistic. He has no Soul,he dwells on inflicting pain no matter what you and I think, this Guy's is comparable to a Person who would stand atop a Bridge shoot at the on coming traffic just for sport. And then deny it was him even with video proof.

14. NPD is WAY MORE than simple narcissism.

Itís a Trump. He effectively defines the disorder.

11. Don't worry about the Conways. It's just business, like Carville and Matlin.

KELLYANNE CONWAY: For Trump, the debates are fraught with peril. Because now the question is going to be about these Trump victims. The reason the messaging has gotten better since Alexís barnburner of an article two weeks ago is theyíre starting to talk about victims of Trump University, victims of Trump in Atlantic City. Before that it was his conservative apostasies, now itís actually youíre for the little guy but youíve built your business on the backs of the little guy. [CNN, At This Hour, 3/8/16]
