Trump's rage at another governor is uglier than it first seemed
LBN thread from yesterday: Trump threatens to pull Republican convention out of North Carolina
______________________________________________________________________ Source: Washington Post Trump’s rage at another governor is uglier than it first seemed By Greg Sargent Opinion writer 5/26/2020, 2:22:56 p.m. President Trump spent part of the weekend raging at Roy Cooper, the Democratic governor of North Carolina, because Cooper has not yet greenlighted a plan for the Republican National Convention to proceed at full capacity, as Trump is demanding. That’s absurd on its face, of course, since public health imperatives amid a deadly pandemic obviously require North Carolina to proceed carefully in making such an enormously consequential life-and-death decision amid complex and changing conditions. But it turns out there’s even more to the backstory here, and it makes Trump’s rage-fest look considerably uglier than it did at first. -snip- In that letter, a copy of which was sent to me, North Carolina officials say they and Cooper held a phone meeting with the GOP convention chair and other Republicans last Friday, that North Carolina had requested detailed plans for what Republican convention planners are hoping to do, and that such a written plan would be the starting point for continued discussions. A source familiar with those negotiations tells me there wasn’t anything contentious in them, and that the RNC had not insisted on an immediate guarantee that the convention could proceed at “full attendance.” In other words, things may have been proceeding in a relatively rational manner. Then Trump erupted. -snip- Read more: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/05/26/trumps-rage-another-governor-is-uglier-than-it-first-seemed/

13. Self-fornication---with a pitchfork
An old rusty, manure-encrusted, tetanus- and corona-infected pitchfork. Sideways.

4. There's a story circulating that Trump wants the convention near his Doral business in Florida.
Could be that he just made up an impossible condition that no governor, party irrelevant, would be able to fulfill.

8. That makes sense
There's always an ulterior ($$$) motive with this guy.
Plus he got push-back when he wanted to host the G7 at Doral. Gotta fill up those crappy rooms somehow.... |

10. On the right track..
It's a rumor that the protesting is a set up for cancellation so the convention can be moved elsewhere.

I am in a frequent state of anxiety, but that is manageable.
Can't imagine how he functions. Oh. That's right. He doesn't function. Never mind. |

11. Trump & Co. did the same with ventilators
GM and Ventec were moving along just fine on their joint venture then, probably because Trump didn’t see his name in the agreements and had a shit-fit, it almost tanked.
Both companies decided to continue on in spite of all that. It cost them time and aggravation that no one needed. |

12. I stand with *resident Trump!!!
Have your convention. Pack them in as tightly as humanly possible. Have them on the convention floor for HOURS. Make sure any break out groups are well attended. Everyone have dinner at the same time in the same place.
Ooops! Covid19 is being spread around you say? Thoughts and prayers!!! |
