'Obamagate' or 'Jealousygate?' Trump's maniacal obsession with Obama

https://www.al.com/news/2020/05/obamagate-birtherism-and-trumps-maniacal-obsession-with-obama.html

Obama is back.

The former president delivered two online commencement speeches on Saturday, one to students graduating from high schools and the other to those graduating from historically black colleges and universities. His words of encouragement and inspiration to the students offered more than a calm respite from the daily chaos we’ve grown accustomed to the last three and a half years. Obama reminded us what a U.S. president should sound like.

The Tweeter-in-chief is furious. Trump’s false birtherism claims have now blossomed into ‘Obamagate.’

Maybe a better term for this Trumpian distraction in ‘Jealousygate.’

Trump’s jealousy of Obama oozes like orange lava. Obama is pretty much everything Trump is not: Witty, compassionate, highly intelligent, thoughtful, cool. Faithful. He has written more books than Trump will ever read. Obama, still respected and admired around the world, also enjoys higher popularity ratings than the current president. The first sign of Trump’s insecurity as president showed up on his first day in office when he comically instructed Sean Spicer to compare the size of his paltry inauguration crowd to that of Obama’s. Trump boasted his was the largest inauguration the world has ever seen, or some such nonsense. He probably says his hands are bigger than Obama’s, too.
