An evangelical missionary has access to the locations of Brazil's uncontacted tribes

The government of Jair Bolsonaro, Brazil’s far right, authoritarian president, recently confirmed the appointment of an evangelical missionary to head the unit charged with protecting uncontacted tribes within FUNAI, the federal Indigenous Affairs Department.

Ricardo Lopes Dias is linked to the New Tribes Mission (NTM), one of the largest and most extreme missionary organizations, whose objective is to contact and evangelize uncontacted tribes around the world at whatever cost, whether they like it or not.

1. While a Muslim Ban is not justified, an Evangelical ban would certainly be so.

3. Geez, can't they just let them have their own beliefs without

targeting and bullying them into a new religion they have lived without all this time?

What version of religion are they practicing, in the first place, if the only way to get people to follow it is to harass them and nag at them until they agree with your belief system to shut you up and make you stop nagging? That is how right wing Christians do it. None of my liberal Christian friends do that crap. It's just the right wing conservative ones that purposely target certain groups of people that way. They are like sharks in the water, circling, targeting certain groups of people.

They hounded my aunt at the Rockingham Hospice and she was ALREADY a Christian. They just circled her and stayed on her. She was ALREADY Christian, just not right wing obnoxious Christian. Enough already. That type of stuff should be considered a form of abuse.

7. "What version of religion are they practicing"

One in which a perfect, all-knowing, and loving god makes people that he knows he won't accept, takes none of the blame, decides to set up a torture center to dump them in, then gets himself killed to make … something … better and then hides, but is nice to those who acknowledge that he did this based only on the word of people who weren't there.

They worship a fucking monster.

That's. What. Christianity. Is.

8. Holy shit, this could prove deadly to these tribes, in terms of diseases from these officials.

Not to mention the death of their culture from the forced proselytizing.
